What is it?
It is the greatest Commandment of all time. ‘Love thy neighbor as thyself and Love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind’. That is a huge thing to us all is it? To us, not really but to God it is different.
I mean when we think of love, we think of our family, our friends, our spouses, but this type of love is truly different from all. God wants us to put our love for Him first and before everyone else in our lives. 1 Corinthians 13:13 KJV – ‘And now abide faith, hope, love, these three, but the greatest of these is love.’
When I think of that verse, I think of TobyMac’s song “Love Feels Like” because his hit song tells us about what love from God feels like. It feels amazing to feel His warmth and comfort. We should always do His Will to please Him.
However, we should not do these things because we have to, but because we want to and we should do it not out of anger or hate or grudgingly, we should do it out of love. God loves us all very much that He created us to do His Will, should we not take the time out of our day to love Him back?
Should we not tell Him how much we love Him and all that He has done for us? Yes, we should but we should do it of our own free will. God would never accept a love forced because we were all forced to take the time to talk to Him.
Love the Lord and love all that He has done for us and all that He has sacrificed for us. ‘For God so loved the World, that He gave His only Begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life’ – John 3:16. God’s love is eternal for us, how big is your love for Him?
