God says that every individual is unique in his/her own way and their gifts are special to them. This saying is often proven true because without our uniqueness there would be no pastors or song leaders. I can’t prove that because only God knows that sort of stuff but His Word does say that ‘I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and No man shall come to the Father except through Me’ – John 14:6 KJV.
Without God, we wouldn’t be standing here and without Him, we all wouldn’t be the unique individuals God sees us as. Sometimes we believe that our gifts are not useful, or helpful, to the church in that manner, but there is always a reason for our gifts being given to us. Every little bit of help that we do for our church gives it a chance to grow and every time our church grows is when we get a chance to grow along with it as a reward.
It’s usually better to not listen to what the people, and the Devil, say about us and just stop and listen to what God has to say for us to do for Him. God is loving and inspiring and He has created us all for a reason: to worship Him and prepare for the day that He will come like a thief in the night to take us to our eternal resting place in Heaven.
So until then, it is our job to use all of our gifts that were given to us to help grow His Kingdom and grow in our relationship with God. If you read all of 1 Corinthians 12, then you will understand the meaning of what I am saying from that chapter. The greatest gift of all, however, does not come from us, but from the Lord who sent His Son to die on the cross for us all and just like it says in 1 Corinthians 12:12 – ‘For as the Body is one and has many members, but all members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ’. That means to say that we are all members of Christ and just like every part of the body, we each have an individual task assigned to us that is different from the rest.
So don’t be afraid to use your gifts for the church, use them for God and His Son. My family and I have been doing so at our church and our lives have never been better, thanks to God for leading us to where He wanted us to be.
Amen
