This world is full of hustle and bustle. Everything moves so fast. It seems as though time is speeding up. Everything is hurry up. Go here, go there. Fast, fast, fast.
We get so busy that we feel like we have no time for God. Running throughout our day, we do not think about God. By the time we get home in the evening, we are so tired, we forget about God. Now, we have gone a complete day not giving God any time. And then we wonder why our relationship with the Lord is suffering.
I will admit that I have a lot of things going on at one time. There are days, that I feel like Martha. Just busy, busy. Running here and there, attempting to keep my schedule. But I am always thinking about the Lord. Would He be pleased with my response in this situation? Did I honor Him when I went here?
I can have a very busy day and have a close relationship with God. But, the days that I cherish begin at a slower pace. Soaking up my alone time with Him before the day awakes. It might mean that I need to set my alarm at little earlier and get a little less sleep, but He is worth it.
That time that I can just be still with the Lord is precious.
Maybe first thing in the morning will not work for you. It does not have to be then. Anytime that you can find a quiet place and be still with the Lord, that is your alone time. Find that time in your day to live on Jesus time.
Be a Mary and sit at the feet of Jesus. Be still. Breathe in….breathe out. Soak in every second.
Now you can continue your schedule. Return to living on Jesus time as often as you can.
