And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32
I should have said this when I was speaking. I wish I would have done this differently. Why did I just do that. Why did I just say that. Immediately I feel the conviction wash over me. I know that what I have done, I should not have done. Another situation messed up by me. Another conversation that I can not take back.
I seek forgiveness. Not so I can commit the same sins continually, but that I turn from my sin. A true heart of repentance. I regret the mistakes that I have made. And He forgives me. His grace is so amazing that He has already accounted for all of my mess ups. He knows my heart. He knows my intentions.
There are days that I feel like I cannot do anything right. Those days, I do not know why He keeps calling me to do His work. I do not feel worthy at all. He has already seen my weariness and gives me strength. He reassures me and is there to help me back up and set me back on my path. His grace is so amazing.
We do not forgive each other like God forgives us. We hold grudges, harbor ill feelings, and tell the world about another’s mistakes. God forgives and remembers it no more. How amazing is grace?
God’s forgiveness does not mean that if we have wronged another person that we do not need to go to them and seek their forgiveness as well. That one is a little harder than seeking God’s forgiveness. We know that God loves us and that He wants the very best for our lives. Even when we do not think we deserve anything.
We should all work to forgive like God. We should strive to love like God. We should want the very best for everyone’s lives like God.
Try forgiveness today. You will not regret letting go. Allow God to heal your heart. Trust in Him to guide your life. His grace is amazing.
