Time and Patience

I know that God has a plan. He does not give me the whole plan, but small pieces at a time. He knows me. He knows if I had the full plan, that I would skip all the stuff in the middle and go right to completing the end. I have very little patience for waiting. The patience I do have came from God.

Logically, I understand that if I do not complete all of the steps in the middle, that the end result will not be God’s plan. I will have left God out of His plan. But there is a part of me that still wants to run ahead. I am so excited to see God’s plan unfold that I do not want to wait. I want to see hearts changed and souls saved.

But God says wait. So I wait.

While I wait, “What can I do for you today, Lord?” How can I serve today? Is there someone that needs encouragement? Is there someone that needs love?

“How can I grow today, Lord?” Is there something I can study? Is there something I can learn?

“Who can I pray for today?” Is there someone that needs prayer? Is there someone that I have a burden for?

We all have time. God gives us 24 hours each day. How we spend that time is up to us. If you are currently in a season of waiting for your next step, fill your time with service. If you are currently walking a step for the Lord, make the most of the hours given to you.

In my season of waiting, I may be short on patience, but I have time and I want to spend my time in service.
