Thy Will Be Done

There are days when it is hard to choke out those four simple words – thy will be done. By nature, we are fixers. We see a problem and automatically do into “fix” mode. It is hard to stand back, knowing you could make a situation better, and allow it to continue on course unaltered.

Whether it is your job, your kids, your spouse, your family, anything and everything in your life. One of the hardest things I did was to allow God to guide the lives of my children. As a mom, I naturally wanted to be in charge. Guiding them and caring for them.

Then, my eyes were opened to the job I was doing as a parent and it was not good. I realized that God loves my children more than I do and His plans for their lives were better than anything I could want for them. Thy will be done. I stepped back and allowed God to guide their lives. I give God all the glory for the adults they are today.

As we walk down the path that the Lord has chosen for us, there are so many times when we cannot see the road ahead. We cannot make sense of the current situation. Nothing is going the way we thought it should be. Thy will be done. Keep walking the pathway. Keep listening for guidance.

When the world falls apart, know that there is peace in the Lord. When times are trying, know that there is comfort in the Lord. When you cannot make sense of anything, know that there is rest in the Lord.

His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts are better than our thoughts. Thy will be done. Trust in those four words.
