Take a good look at your life. Do you see someone that is unhappy or mad or sad all the time? Maybe you know the reason for your emotions, maybe you do not. You think if you had this car, or this job, or this house – things would be better. If you could only (fill in the blank) then you would be happy. If someone else would only (fill in the blank) then you would be happy.
If none of that happens, you can still find happiness. There is joy in the Lord. There is fulfillment in a relationship with Him. There is peace in the middle of the storm.
The majority of people in this world want to be happy. They want to smile and see the blessings around them. I imagine that even the people who claim to be fine in their misery secretly want to be happy.
The Bible is our life guide. It says in Ephesians 4:31 Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. Do you have any of this in your life that needs to be dealt with? Take it to God in prayer. Then, over in Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. Do you practice these every day? Take it to God in prayer. And then we find in James 4:7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Do you practice this? Take it to God in prayer.
You want to change your situation or circumstances, pray. And then follow God’s direction. Allow God to move in your life and you will start to see a change in you. Develop a real, lasting relationship with God.
