If you could write a story about your life, which character would you be? Would you be the calm, cool, collected main character that saves the day and never breaks a sweat? Would you be the supporting character that fumbles through the movie, but is the main character’s best friend? Would you be the villain that is jealous of the main character and always trying to sabotage them?
For me, I would be the supporting character. I make mistakes, I fall down, but I get back up and try again. My main character would be Jesus. He is the center of my life. Everything that I have had, currently have or will have in the future is because of Him.
Now that you have characters, what would your title be? Would it say that you have had a successful career, amassed wealth, have great friends, drive a nice car, donated to good causes, volunteered, served your community, etc? Look back and see what your life has been about up to this point. What do you see? That would be the title of your story.
My title would probably say I tried. I may not be the most accomplished speaker or writer, but I try. I may not say or do the right things all of the time, but I try. I work every day on my relationship with God. I am a sinner saved by grace.
It is my prayer that the pages of my story would say that no matter what else you know about me, you can see that I am a Christian. My actions and not just my words show that I am Christ centered. That you have seen that God is love through me.
Maybe you have looked at your story and are not happy with what it says. Remember that your story has not ended. You can make a change today and write a different story from this point forward. As long as we live, we have the ability to write a new page, a plot twist. It is not until we draw our last breath that our story ends.
Make today count. Write your story.
