Clean Slate

The great thing about starting over is you get to go in a completely different direction. You get to try something new and different. You get a clean slate.

Recently, I have had an experience with everything being wiped away. At that point, I looked at it as an opportunity. An opportunity to start fresh and do something new.

We get so caught up in what we are currently doing, that sometimes we miss the opportunities that God places before us. It might take a clean slate to get your attention. God has a plan for our lives. That plan does not look like our plan. We have to make the decision if we are going to follow Him or go on our own.

I have seen so many people try to live a life for God on their own terms. They make the rules and then tell God what He is going to do. Unfortunately, that is not how this works.

I have been the person that said to God that I was too busy – pick an elder, teacher or someone with less to do. I have missed so many blessings in my life. I have missed out on having a life with God earlier. I served God for many years before I understood what true service really was.

True service does not make plans. True service follows when you are called. True service steps outside your comfort zone to serve. True service follows God whenever and wherever.

I am navigating my clean slate and prayerfully seeking God’s guidance and direction. Great things come from starting over.
