Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Have you ever tried looking through the darkness? It’s very hard to see isn’t it? But when you shine a light in the darkness, that light fills every corner of the room. All of the sudden, everything comes into focus. That is what we are called to do, to let our light shine.
Somedays we just do not feel like shining. Other days we feel as though nothing we are doing is making a difference and our light grows dim.
People who see us on the street or in our office, we may be the only Jesus they ever see. On bad days, it is hard to put on that smile and show people kindness, but Jesus had bad days too and He used those opportunities to reach others. He is our example.
We have to keep our relationship close with God in order to allow our light to shine brightly. The way we do that is reading our Bible, prayer and being in His house surrounded by your Church family. The only way to combat the bad days is a close personal relationship with the Lord.
He will carry you through so your light will shine bright.
Be the light so that the world can see Jesus in you.
